The most widespread use for a hitch is towing. However, there are many other benefits to having a hitch on your vehicle. You can use one to attach a bike rack to your car or increase cargo space with a carrier.
There are several types of trailer hitches, and the one you choose is dependent on two factors. What is the intended use of the hitch, and what is your vehicles hauling or towing capacity specifications? Let’s look at the different types of hitches and what they are used for.
1. Rear Receiver Hitch
The most commonly seen style of hitch, a rear receiver is affixed to the rear frame of the vehicle. It features a square tube receiver that a vast number of things can attach to
2.Front Mount Hitch
As you may have guessed, a front mount hitch is affixed to the front of the car’s frame. You can use it for winches, cargo carriers, and even snowplows.
3. 5th Wheel Hitch
A heavy-duty hitch attached to the truck bed is intended to haul heavy-duty loads like 5th wheel trailers, car haulers, and livestock haulers.
4. Gooseneck Hitch
Like 5th wheel hitches, a gooseneck attaches to the truck bed but has slightly fewer hauling capabilities and is less invasive.
5. Pintle Hitch
Used typically in the construction industry, a pintle hitch is a more robust alternative to the standard hitch and trailer ball styles.
6. Bumper Hitch
This style of hitch attaches to the bumper, so it can’t tow much but is excellent for lightweight application
7. Weight Distribution Hitch
Technically, this is more of a hitch attachment as it needs to be mounted on a rear receiver. It helps to evenly distribute the tongue weight across the trailer and tow vehicle.

Great service!! On our way home from a fishing trip realized the bearings in our boat trailer had failed. Pulled into true-centre they helped us out asap got us back on the road in an hour and a half and we still had 5 hours drive to get home. Thank you so much!! Staff were very kind, knowledgeable and quick when I came in for an oil change. Once the servicing on my car was complete, the front desk attendant went over some of the findings the technician had noted and why they were noteworthy but not necessarily important to do immediately. Moreover, they were not forceful at all when explaining those previous "additional issues" and made it very clear that these could wait for another time but to stay vigilant. Thank you so much for the all the care and consideration that went into taking care of my car!

Wow, I’m impressed! I called for an app and they got me in the next morning, did an inspection, told and even showed me the issues on screen and explained everything, did the repairs right after inspection and boom my car drives better than it did when I bought it! First time ever that I got a printed report with photos of what they did and what I need to consider doing next. I even enjoyed the company of the woman that shuttled me home while car was being repaired. All the staff I spoke too were great. All around a great experience and I’ll be going to them from now on! :) 10/10 highly recommend

Excellent customer service. I was on a traveling road trip when my car broke down I was told by Canadian Tire that they could not help me as the part I needed was on back order and would not be available through any source for months. I contacted True-Center and Joe said he would see what he could do and that day he found the part and would be receiving it in 3 days. I rented a car continued my trip and Joe kept me up to date on the repair. I I was able to puck up my car on the way home did not have to wait months.

I have been dealing with True Centre for many years. Recently I had a problem with my vehicle on a Friday. I called and spoke to Neil (General Manager and Master Technician) who then spoke to Alex the owner about this. Alex came over to take my vehicle to the garage which I could not do. They said they would fit me in the next week. After they assessed this problem I once again spoke to Neil. A part was ordered and installed and ready to go. A car was sent to pick me up.
